The goal of the conference is to provide information about the internship period and to connect graduates seeking internship placements with about 20 hospitals striving to recruit top doctors and persuade them why they should choose their institution.
Held in early January in a virtual format using the Expo Wizard system, this year’s event required a virtual setup more than ever to accommodate all students and graduates, especially those serving in reserves, working shifts, or engaged in studies.
The conference lasted about five hours and included two main parts.
Part One:
- Greetings and important presentations.
- A raffle for an internship card.
The main session featured:
- Miri Schwimmer, Chair of the Israel Medical Students Association (IMA).
- Prof. Haggai Zion, Chair of the Israel Medical Association.
- Dr. Atia Nitzan, Chair of the Interns Organization of IMA.
- Prof. Chaim Keshet, Chair of the Scientific Council – the Scientific Council and Future Internships (CBME).
- Ms. Dana Eshkol, Scientific Council on the Path to Specialization (including Direct Internship).
- Fanny Abuchatira, Head of the Medical Division, Ministry of Health.
- Karen Mandel, Head of the Companies Department – presenting the results of the internship card raffle.
The 600 participants were also offered the opportunity to join IMA as associate members for free during their internship period. Membership provides access to exclusive benefits, professional advice, and a raffle for a gift card among new members.
Part Two: Virtual meetings were held with representatives from 20 leading hospitals in Israel. Each intern selected which meetings to attend after viewing the virtual hospital exhibition, where each hospital presented the highlights of its internship program and unique aspects that distinguish it from similar programs.
The Expo Wizard system served as the central platform for the virtual exhibition of the organizations, as well as for broadcasting the main session and the 20 separate hospital meetings.
